Cognac Drouet, Réserve de Jean is a highly acclaimed, single-estate Grande Champagne Cognac produced by the Drouet family in Salles-d'Angles, France. A tribute to Jean L'Homme, who founded the estate in 1848, this is a Cognac of character. A well developed mahogany appearance with aromas of oak, pepper and nutmeg. Full bodied and long on the palate, this is for the lovers of Grande Champagne Cognac. Terroir: 100% Grande Champagne (1er Cru). Grapes: Ugni Blanc with 7% Colombard for added complexity. Aging: 12 months in new French oak barrels, followed by extended aging in older roux casks. Additives: No coloring caramel, added sugars, or sulfites. Colour: Clear, coppery amber with burnished copper glints. Nose: Oak, underbrush, white and grey pepper, nutmeg, ginger, and underlying ripe fruits. Palate: Full-bodied notes of gingerbread, creamy caramel, marzipan, and warm coffee cake. Finish: Long, refined finish with lingering spice and toasted almond notes.
