Nero d'AvolaWell, well, well. After a deep search we have been lucky enough to work with a small parcel of Barossa Valley Nero d'Avola. We treated this ferment 100% whole berry, basket pressed straight to neutral French oak. We've bottled this wine early to maintain it's freshness. TASTING NOTE: The natural zip and acidity this varietal shows aids in beautiful balance with light florals, bright red fruits and red cherries. Quite simply, a cracking evening wine to watch the sunset with a slice of pizza in hand. VINIFICATION: 10 day 100% whole berry semi carbonic ferment, pressed to neutral oak. ‣ Minimal sulphur added ‣ Wild yeast fermentation ‣ No fining or filtration ‣ 12.5% alc REVIEWS: 93 points - Sam Kim (Wine Orbit) "Richly ripe and beautifully fragrant, showing blackberry, warm spice, potpourri and roasted nut aromas, followed by a generously expressed palate delivering plump mouthfeel and velvety texture. Mouthfilling and comforting, it's upfront and fabulously drinkable." 93 points - Steve Leszczynski (QWine Reviews) “When life gives you lemons, drink this ripping Nero! What a delight this is. Soft, youthful, juicy and vibrant - come at me. Sourced from two Barossa sites with some runs on the board, the silky and lacy presence urges you back time and again. Black cherries and dark berries are framed by fine spices with a flash of raspberry coulis arriving late. Dripping with squished berries, it has a vibe and energy about it that will also welcome a slight chill. Fine spices continue to rattle along late and add to the delish factor. Large pours seem compulsory. Great stuff and highly recommended!” 93 points - Wine Showcase Magazine
