Cantina Crociani's vineyards are situated at Le Caggiole, one of the most attractive areas in the heart of the Vino Nobile production area in Tuscany. The vineyards, covering about 10 hectares, are on medium textured soils well suited to the growth of the vine and producing superb vintages year on year. Susanna Crociani, whose father founded the company in the 1950s, today runs the winemaking out of the family's 14th century cellars are situated in the town of Montepulciano. Focusing on natural practices in the vineyards and the winery, she farms organically and takes a non-interventionist approach to winemaking. The wines are only roughly filtered and are always backed by their classic Montepulciano rusticity.

SangioveseThis wine is named after Susanna Crociani`s brother, Giorgio, and displays rich flavours of cherry and red berries, a soft gamey character combined with subtle oak. Supple tannins and a firm structure lead into a long, full flavoured finish. Perfect for a multitude of foods, a blend of sangiovese and montepulciano, as well as some local varietals. "Il Segreto di Giorgio" is in fact, a secret. Susanna Crociani will never tell you the exact grapes that make it up or the exact process that leads to its birth. "Try to guess," she will tell you in the cellar. It is a wine that comes from a precise idea of her brother Giorgio and that, like him, expresses simplicity, spontaneity, goodness and purity. A tribute to the memory of a special man.
