Mataro/MourvedreThe Triple Threat Mataro Rosé is a vibrant and expressive wine, crafted from our Home Block vineyard in Vine Vale on the eastern edge of the Barossa Valley. Grown in deep sandy loam over white clay, this site consistently delivers fruit with purity, depth, and finesse. Pale salmon in hue, the wine opens with lifted aromas of strawberry, pink grapefruit and watermelon, with a gentle floral note of rose petal. The palate is crisp and dry, with juicy red fruit, a fine line of acidity, and a subtle savoury edge that adds texture and complexity. Handcrafted in small batches with minimal intervention, this rosé is a celebration of place, variety, and style — a true triple threat. The 2024 Triple Threat Rosé is a striking expression of Barossa Valley Mataro, offering an enticing bouquet of fresh-picked strawberries, delicate white flowers, and hints of watermelon and pink lady apple. On the palate, it’s mouth-filling and elegant, with flavours of strawberries and cream, wild raspberries, and a touch of rosehip. The wine’s soft, supple texture is complemented by a fine line of acidity that gives energy and length, while a gentle savoury edge adds dimension and complexity. The Mataro is sourced exclusively from our Home Block vineyard in Vine Vale, situated on the eastern ridge of the Barossa Valley. This site features 30-year-old own-rooted vines planted on sandy loam over white, non-reactive clay — ideal for producing small, intensely flavoured berries. The vineyard’s north–south orientation captures the afternoon sun, promoting early ripening and rich flavour development, while the low-cropping vines consistently yield fruit of depth and distinction. The 2024 growing season was marked by significant climatic challenges. After a winter of above-average rainfall replenished soil moisture, spring and summer brought drier-than-average conditions and persistent heat. The sandy soils of Vine Vale, in particular, experienced rapid moisture depletion, resulting in reduced yields — in some cases by as much as 50%. However, the Mataro thrived in the dry, warm conditions, producing fruit with exceptional colour, purity, and concentration. The vintage is shaping up to be a standout for varietals like Mataro, which performed beautifully under the pressure of a hot and fast-ripening season. This rosé is a celebration of site, variety, and season — vibrant, textural, and bursting with character. Perfect for drinking now, but with enough structure to evolve gracefully over the next few years.

Seabrook Wines
View winerySeabrook’s wine story is over 140 years old. It all began in 1878 when William Seabrook (W.J.) established a wine merchant business in Melbourne, W.J. Seabrook & Son. The narrative has evolved over the years, and today the Seabrook label is Hamish and Jo’s family vigneron brand, with Hamish the first winemaker in a long line of merchants. He is fifth generation Seabrook, and evident in his wines is knowledge learned from his forebears. Early in Hamish's Career one of the most significant workplace was ‘Best’s’ in Great Western. Here he was taken under the wing of wine industry legend Viv Thomson, where he established his winemaking style. Hamish makes genuine small-batch wines he loves to drink. He is passionate about reflecting the place in which they come from, and he has a hands-on approach to the family’s 20-acre estate.
